About Pescadores Galapagos Tech Hub
Pescadores Galapagos Tech Hub is a reading desk for practical technology. Most pages start from a small, specific problem: an app that will not stay open, a phone full of files, a garden light that has gone dark, a shop that needs a better way to count stock. Each article tries to answer that problem early and then explain enough of the background that the next similar problem feels less mysterious.
What you will find here
Technology sits at the centre, but it rarely stays in its own box, so the hub follows it into the places where people actually meet it:
- Technology and Applications: phones, settings, apps, streaming, digital tools and the occasional look at where they are heading.
- Social Media: how online visibility and search work for small organisations, explained without shortcuts.
- Travel: connected trips, from charging rules on planes to keeping phone bills calm abroad, plus places worth reading about.
- Real estate and Gardening: homes, outdoor spaces and the gadgets that increasingly live in both.
- Insurance: how policies are structured, written for people reading the small print for the first time.
- Biz and Corporate: routines, procedures and decisions for small firms.
- Creative: design, video and games, with an eye on the tools behind them.
The people at the keyboard
Four writers share the work, each using a pen name. Marisela looks after apps and devices and is happiest when a fix fits into five steps. Tancredi covers small-business routines, property and the money side of things, and keeps those pages general rather than personal. Quillan writes about travel and creative tools and has strong feelings about colour. Kerensa handles insurance and online visibility, and reads every policy clause twice. None of us claims a professional licence, and nothing here should be read as if we did.
How to use these pages
Treat each article as a well-organised starting point. Menus and settings move between software versions, prices and rules differ by country, and policies change at renewal. Where an article touches insurance, contracts, health or money, it explains how things generally work and points you towards someone qualified for the decision itself.
The way topics are chosen, drafted and checked is set out in How the Hub Works, and the kinds of material we read before writing are listed on The Sources We Lean On. If a term trips you up, A Tech Word List keeps short definitions in one place.
A few places to begin
New readers often start with fixing an app that keeps closing, what a standard operating procedure is or the power bank rules for flights. Each one links onward to related pieces.
Staying in touch
Spotted something out of date, or want a topic covered? The Message the Hub page explains how to reach us, and Corrections at the Hub describes what happens after you do.
