Questions Readers Send Us
The same handful of questions reaches the hub's inbox again and again. Here they are with short answers, so you do not have to wait for a reply.
About the articles
Can you help me fix my own phone or computer?
We cannot connect to devices or provide one-to-one support, but most guides are written so you can work through the checks yourself. If an app keeps shutting down, the crash checklist is the place to start. For hardware faults, the manufacturer or an authorised repairer is the right contact.
The steps do not match my screen. Why?
Phone makers and app developers change menus with updates, and Android in particular varies between manufacturers. Look for a similarly named option nearby, and let us know through Message the Hub so the article can be updated.
How current are the articles?
Each one shows when it was published and, where relevant, when it was last revised. Pages are revisited when readers or writers spot changes, as described on How the Hub Works.
Insurance, property and money
Can you tell me which insurance policy to buy?
No. Articles such as the cyber insurance explainer describe how policies are usually structured and what to compare. Choosing a policy belongs with you and, ideally, a licensed broker or adviser who can see your circumstances.
Are the property and loan articles advice?
They are general explanations. Borrowing, buying and selling property involve legal and financial decisions that deserve professional input.
Companies and links
Why do some articles mention specific companies?
Sometimes a named business or product helps make an explanation concrete. A mention is not a recommendation over alternatives, and readers should compare options before buying, as the terms of use explain.
Do you sell anything?
No products are sold on the hub, and reading is free without any account.
Using and sharing
May I quote an article?
Yes, a short passage with a credit and a link back is welcome. For longer extracts or translations, write first.
Can I suggest a topic?
Please do. Several guides, including the mood board how-to, grew out of questions like yours. A one-line description of what you were trying to do is enough.
Does the site track me?
No. There are no analytics or advertising tools, and the only stored item is your banner choice in your own browser. Details are on Privacy on the Hub and How the Hub Uses Cookies.
